Sandra Johannes James, also known as “Sandra Dee,” of Catherine’s Rest died at Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital on Aug. 6. She was 48 years old.
She is survived by her husband, Trevor R. James; mother, Althea Marshall; father, Rupert A. Johannes; grandparents: Prince Johannes and Joseph Marshall; daughter, Sherice S. James; son, Renard L. James; and grandchild, Kamora S. Michael. She is also survived by sisters: Claudette Johannes-Edwards, Magdaline Johannes-Hobson, Adelia Johannes-Samuel, Merrill Johannes-Smith, Milinda and Jacqueline Johannes, Una Jackson, Patricia Thomas Moorehead, Mabeline Marshall and Eileen Miller; brothers: Halvor, Douglas, Otis, Myron Emric Johannes, Eddie, Wayne, Clayton and Melbourne Miller; more than 70 nieces and nephews; more than 50 great nieces and nephews; aunts: Arithminta Francis and Ann Johannes; and uncles: Ezekiel Johannes and Milton Johannes. Other survivors include special friends: Carmen and Elroy Clarke, Dona Browne Jones, Sharon Williams, Claudette Edwards, Emma Ayala Miller, Luz Armstrong, Janet Rivera, Dodson James, Jerianne and Vernon James; godmothers: Margaret McIntosh and Milita Maendez; and other too numerous to mention.
A viewing will take place at 9 a.m. and a funeral service at 10 a.m., on Saturday, Aug. 15, at the Friedensfeld Moravian Church. Interment will follow at the Kingshill Cemetery.
