Ashem Jaheed Mahoney, also known as “Luna,” died on Aug. 5, on St. Thomas. He was 29 years old.
He is survived by his mother, Celise Asika Thomas Mahoney; father, Dennis Lee Shimba Mahoney Sr.; son, Kahir Aziz Mahoney; brother, Dennis Lee Dyce Manhoney Jr.; fiancé, Khadisha Khaddi Bruce; great grandmothers: Lauris Hall Jackson and Eulalie Mahoney; and grandmother, Beryl Smith. He is also survived by aunts: Margie Mahoney, Sandra Thomas-Potter, Barbara Thomas, Debra Thomas-Smith and Felise Thomas; uncles: Kenneth, Clarence, Wayne and Franklin Mahoney, Kelvin Thomas and Kennard Smith; great aunts: Gennie Colon, Cheryl Thompson, Lorraine Fleming, Jennifer Richardson, Sonia Archer and Rubina Rogers; great uncles: Robert Thomas Jr., Mario Thomas Sr., Henry Thomas Sr., Raymond Thomas, Paul Thomas, Calvin Thomas Jr., Elmo Fleming, Hubert, Kenneth Jackson, Danet Mahoney and Roy Mahoney; and many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
There will be a first viewing held from 6-8 p.m., on Wednesday, Aug. 19, at Davis Funeral Home Chapel. A second viewing will be held at 9 a.m. and a funeral service at 10 a.m., on Thursday, Aug. 20, at Word of Faith Christian Center.
