Students across the St. Croix District who have made the grade and performed at the 80th percentile and above on the 2009 VITAL-S or VITAL-A will be given their props at the High Achievers Recognition Ceremony, according to a press release from District Superintendent Gary Molloy. The ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 17, at John H. Woodson Junior High School.
“This ceremony recognizes and pays tribute to students who are the academic “Shining Stars” of the St. Croix District public schools,” Molloy said. “We are starting off the New Year with a focus on the hard work, determination and good that our students do every day. By this recognition, we are promoting their efforts and encouraging them to continue to work hard and be committed to their education and future, as well as we are further setting fire to (or firing up) those students who haven’t quite made it. We want them to know that they, too, can be “Shining Stars,” and that is our goal at the district: to see them shine, also.
