Registration Is Open for the 10th V.I. Nonpoint Source Pollution Conference

The 10th Virgin Islands Nonpoint Source Pollution Conference will be held May 6-7, at the Wyndham Sugar Bay Resort & Spa in Estate Smith Bay, St. Thomas. This year’s conference theme is "Changing Direction and Directing Change: Solutions 2 Nonpoint Pollution."

The two-day conference, will consist of a morning plenary session featuring special keynote speaker Trika Gerard, marine ecologist, NOAA-NMFS/SEFSC; a youth session and a luncheon with (tentative) special speaker Judith Enck, EPA Region 2 administrator. The afternoon will have concurrent presentation sessions and certification training workshops on Thursday, May 6. Concurrent presentation sessions and certification training workshops will also be held all day on Friday, May 7. Conference presentations will focus on implementing and/or adapting environmentally-friendly practices to reduce or prevent pollution of terrestrial and marine environments in the Caribbean region.

There are special room rates of $170 per room per night plus taxes and fees ($195 total, single or double) that have been arranged for this event. Participants must identify as a member of the Nonpoint Source Pollution Conference in order to receive special room rates and make reservations either by calling 1-800-927-7100 or 340-777-7100, or by e-mail to [email protected], before the April 2nd deadline. Conference registrations received after April 2 will be charged a late registration fee.
