Parents of students attending the Joseph Sibilly Elementary School are reminded of the upcoming Family Math Night from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 18, in the computer lab,
“This month’s feature is March Into Multiplication. The activities are designed to provide fun strategies to learning mathematics that can be enjoyed by the entire family,” Principal Lois Hassel-Habtes said. “Sibilly staff will be on hand to offer assistance to participants. Mrs. Judith Donadelle, our computer teacher will introduce parents to several multiplication Web sites. Mr. Raymond Smith, our music Instructor will teach fun multiplication songs, and Mr. Sydney Bell, our physical education teacher will demonstrate how to practice our multiplication tables. Sibilly math coach Mrs. Leslie Rockstein will show how to connect to emgames (multiplication) and http://www.doe.vi/ parent resources and present an animated video that explains the different algorithms.”
Family Math Nights have been held on the last Thursday of the month through April. The April 22 meeting is titled Outdoor Math.
