Environmental Association of St. Thomas (EAST) will hold its first BioBlitz. It will take place from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, March 20, the first day of spring. Look for the tent between sheds 3 and 4 at Magens Bay. Entry to the beach will be free for those attending the event.

There will be biodiversity displays by Montessori students, and the Division of Fish and Wildlife will have some specimens to thrill and amaze. Biologists from St. John and St. Croix as well as the Thomians will be on hand to lead surveys and help identify species. There will also be a "Wildlife Scavenger Hunt" for kids. Come for the day, come for an hour. Visit the tent, or participate in a survey. Bring water, sunscreen, bug spray and snorkel gear if you want to participate in the fish surveys.
