“Yesterday’s Dreamer’s Tomorrow’s Stars” (YDTS) is an original musical set on St. Croix that has been produced, directed, composed and written by acclaimed Broadway musical director Timothy Graphenreed. Virgin Islands history is showcased in original songs entitled, “Isaac’s Bay,” “Sunset Light on Cane Bay” and “St. Croix – Past, Present, Future.” The song “What Would D. Hamilton Jackson Say?” uses an historical reference to spark dialogue about ending gun violence and the importance of respecting women.

The musical is also the first interscholastic musical in Crucian history. “YDTS” stars young people from the St. Croix Educational Complex, Central High School, Manor School, Country Day School, Kingshill School, St. Mary’s School, Freewill Baptist School, Bridges Academy, Per Ankh Institute and St. Joseph High School. The show is a catalyst for a seasonal, performing arts school in the Virgin Islands and will premier at the St. Croix Country Day School and the St. Croix Educational Complex. Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. on April 16, 17, 18, 23 and 24. There will also be a performance at 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 18.
Tickets are $10; $5 for students with ID.
Ticket outlets: Urban Threadz, Caribbean Museum Center, Riddims, Turtle’s Deli, Country Day School, Pier 69, China Jade in Sunny Isle and Travel Desk in Gallows Bay.
