The Department of Labor department has begun accepting and processing Summer Youth Employment applications. Special outreach efforts have been planned for St. John students, and staff will be available from 4-6 p.m. every Friday and Monday on St. John at the Administrator’s Office until Monday, June 14, according to a press release from Labor Commissioner Albert Bryan Jr. Applications are available on the department’s Web site at vidol.gov (under the forms tab) and can be picked up at any of the department’s locations. A Summer Employment Fact Sheet is also available online, providing additional information for participants and parents. This summer, special priority will be placed on participants who have not previously received work experience.

Youths under age 18 should be accompanied by a parent/guardian to authorize participation in the program. All applicants should be able to show proof of enrollment in college, high school or basic education; proof of citizenship; social security card; Photo ID; and a copy of a resume if available.
