On behalf of myself and my family who were passengers on the M/V Miss Belmar, we want to express our deepest appreciation to all the rescue providers and other boats who came to render assistance: those who worked for our local government, the federal government, private companies and private citizens who all gave of their time and resources to come to assist in the rescue. It was truly heart warming to see the many caring faces in the time of need. Hats off to you!
I was truly touched and impressed to be welcomed and reassured by Ms. Atkinson, the hospital chief operating officer, Dr. Whitaker, the Department of Health’s medical director, Commissioner Beverly Doty of Tourism at 3 in the morning when we arrived at the hospital. The efforts of all these individuals go over and beyond the call of duty and show sincere commitment and dedication to our community and a love for one another.
Thanks also goes out to the crew and passengers who assisted in getting us all off of the MV Miss Belmar safely. In times of need, we truly know how to come together and help each other.
