Genealogy Library holds Workshop on National Archives Series

0

Caribbean Genealogy Library (CGL) will host a workshop on the National Archives series M1883 at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 3. The M1883 microfilms contain a wide assortment of records from the early 19th century Danish West Indies concerning the free black and slave population, including plantation records, manumission documents, and registers of free blacks. The presentation will showcase records of both historical and genealogical interest, and give attendees the opportunity to explore the microfilms of the collection available for viewing at CGL.
The workshop is free and open to the public. Space will be limited. Reservations may be made by e-mailing [email protected] or calling 714-2136. Caribbean Genealogy Library is located on Raphune Hill at Al Cohen Plaza, across from Randy’s Restaurant.
