Muriel E. Weekes-Ylestin died in Kissimmee, Florida, on Monday, April 16. She was employed in the Lt. Governor’s Office in the Recorder of Deeds Department.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Elenora Fahie, Victor Wilkins and Ethelbert Williams Jr.; and her sister, Carmen Wilkins-Morton. She is survived by her husband, Josene “Domingo” Ylestin; sons: Norris “Boyo” Wilkins and Terrance Leonard; sister, Golda Buckley; grandchildren: Isaiah and Abigail Wilkins; daughter-in-law, Natasha Wilkins; nieces: Cecelia Dowdye-Edwards, Marjorie Buckley and Mallory Morton; nephews: Leslie Lawson, Joel Dowdye and Norris “Buck” Buckley Jr.; adopted sons: Lester Carty and Keith “Kebo” Francois; adopted nephews: Vernon “Crucian” Edwards and Kenrick David; great nieces: Shenique Mills, Jah’Vea Nisbit, ENFN Bre-Anya Dowdye, De-Ana Sylvester, Tesi Washington, Sha’Tique Edwards and Norsyah Buckley; great nephews: Rheal Lawson, Brian Mills Jr., Jakym Phillip, Jakeel Phillip, Jacquoin Phillip, D’Kuan Dowdye, Jaiden David, Jailen David, Norris Buckley III and Norshan Joel Buckley; aunts: Gwen Douglas, Rhoda Francis, Vivian Freeman, Floressa Henley, Ina Monsanto and Francena Rawlins; uncles: Darwin Fahie and Mercer Parrott; and many other relatives and friends to include Pastor Gladstone and Sonia Hazell and her church family of Christian Fellowship Church.

A first viewing will take place from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, April 4, at Turnbull’s Funeral Home.
A second viewing will be held at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, at Faith Christian Fellowship Church. Interment will follow at Eastern Cemetery, Smith Bay.
