David Payne Jr. died on Sept. 7.
David Payne Jr. is survived by his mother, Blanche Frazier; father, David R. Payne Sr.; wife, Janice Mayers; grandmother, Fredericka Payne; grandfather, Frederick Payne; sons: David R. Payne III, Jahvia Payne and Jahzion Payne; daughters, J’Nee Powell (adopted); brothers: Jamal Payne and Jelani Payne; sisters: Olufemi Francis and Rochelle Payne; aunts: Stephanie Payne, Alison Charles and Rehenia Joshua; uncles: Rouse Payne, Ivan Mohammed and Attorney Victor O. Frazer-Esq.; as well as many other families, including: Blyden, Francis, Todman, Cameron, Henley, Estrada, Clyne and Boynes.
There will be a first viewing held from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 20, at Turnbull’s Funeral Home. A second viewing will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 21, at Turnbull’s Funeral Home followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. at Christ Methodist Church, Market Square. There will be a musical prelude from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Christ Methodist Church. Interment will be at Western Cemetery No. 1.
