DLCA Releases Latest Gas Price Survey

The Department of Licensing and Consumer Affairs (DLCA) notifies the public of its latest territory-wide gas price survey findings. The survey was completed on Dec. 27 on St. Croix and St. John, and on Dec. 28 on St. Thomas. It is designed to inform consumers on which stations offer the best fuel prices.
The latest rack rate price change reported to the department by Hovensa effective Monday, Dec. 31 to Jan. 6 shows no change in wholesale prices. According to Hovensa’s notice of motor fuels price changes, regular fuel remains at $3.04 per gallon, premium fuel will remain at $3.36 per gallon, and diesel fuel remains at $3.54 per gallon. Hovensa’s current rack rate reflects a decrease of .25 cents per gallon on regular fuel and .23 cents per gallon on premium fuel, which took effect on Monday, Dec. 17.
St. Croix
The lowest prices found on St. Croix for full service gasoline were $4.69 for premium and $4.39 for regular at Welco Gas Station. The lowest prices for self-service gasoline were $4.24 for premium and $3.96 for regular at Five Corners Service Station. The lowest price for diesel fuel was $4.09 per gallon at One Love Service Station and Gas City.
St. Thomas
The lowest prices found on St. Thomas for full service gasoline were $4.48 for premium at Boynes Trucking and $4.59 for regular at Petrus Gas. The lowest prices for self-service fuel were $4.88 for premium and $4.58 for regular at Giant Gas, One Stop, and Race Track. The lowest price for diesel fuel was $4.40 per gallon at Boynes Trucking.
St. John
Findings represent prices for the only gas station on St. John, E&C self- service station: premium $4.93, regular $4.63, and diesel at $4.88.
