Police on St. Croix are looking into two robberies this week in which, fortunately, no one was injured.
The first robbery took place just after 11 p.m. Sunday in Watergut. Officers were dispatched to investigate a “man down.”
When police arrived on the scene they found a man who seemed to be intoxicated, giving off a strong smell of alcohol, according to police.
The 51-year-old victim said he was walking to his home in Long Reef Condominium when a man came up to him, pointed a black handgun in his face and demanded money. The victim told the suspect he did not have any money and threw his credit card at the suspect.
The victim told police that the suspect left the area when someone passed by. Police searched the area for the suspect but were unable to find him.
In the other incident, a 17-year-old male told police he was talking on his cell phone at 11:30 a.m. Monday at the Harbor View Apartments when another man walked up to him and asked for the phone. The victim gave the suspect the phone, and the suspect started walking away with it.
When the victim asked for his phone back, the suspect brandished a gun and told him not to say anything.
The suspect is described as about 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs about 130 pounds. He was wearing a black T-shirt and grey and red sneakers.
Both cases are being followed up by detectives from the Criminal Investigation Bureau detectives.
The police and other high law enforcement guys are busy making cocaine deals. Meanwhile, the punks are scoping their next victims for cash, phones, gold, whatever. They just need enough to buy their weed, elephant beer, and give some money to their babies mommies to dress their children up for carnival time. Meanwhile, there are very few good jobs to speak of BUT there are so many high end cars on the road, you would not think there was a money/income problem. Wanna guess where the money is coming from?
