The family of Shirley Eleanor Steele is saddened to announce her death on June 15. She leaves to mourn her sister, Marjorie Steele-Petersen; sister-in-law, Marceline Lufgren Steele; nieces: Judge Patricia Steele and Shirley Morgan Roker; nephews: Steven Steele and Randy Voth; niece-in-law, Jeannie Voth; nephew-in-law, Lawrence Kaalund; great niece, Jeannie Voth-Davey; great-great niece, Bree Davey; great nephews: Shane Roker and Mario Thomas; great-great nephew, Reef Davey; cousins: Edna-Mae Belardo, Dorothy Maynard, Theresa Schjang, Debra Kaalund, Linda Heron, Roy, Julie and Lynn Frederiksen; cousin-in-law, Pablo Belardo; and extended families: the Bolling, Steele, Benjamin, Thompson, Ryan and Stenson families, the Villafane family, Ruth Bolling Davies, Wilma Rodney and Nathaniel Challenger.
She is also survived by special friends: Agneta Diaz, Teresa Gaskin, Clemmie Rasmussen, Judy Asad, Doris Encanacion, Camille Larsen, Rowena Brown, Luz Walters, Judy David, Adelia Norman, the Anduze family, the Mc Gregor, Anderson and Cerni families, Cristobal Gomez and family, Reverand and Mrs. Richard Abbot, Jo Ann Rayne, the Lockhard, Nicholson and Sibily families; caregivers: Wilma Rodney, Catherine Gittens, Ana Martinez and the staff of La Paz Hospice Care and Continuum Care; as well as other nieces, nephews and godchildren too numerous to mention.
A viewing will be held at 9 a.m. and a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 25, at St. John’s Episcopal Church. Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Christiansted.
