Carlos “Juney” Theophilus Rice of Fayetteville, Georgia, died on Monday, March 24. He was 55 years old.
Rice moved to St. Croix from Barbados in 1968 until he graduated from St. Croix Central High School. Thereafter, he went on to Georgia to pursue his education and his love for football.
He is predeceased by his father, Carl M. Rice (St. Croix).
He is survived by his wife, Angela Harrington Rice; mother, Estelle Rice (St. Croix); sisters: Sandra Rice Herbert (N.Y.) and Carol Rice (St. Croix); brothers: Carlisle Rice (N.C.), Christopher Rice (Ga.) and Carl Rice Jr. (Ga.); aunts: Hyacinth Chandler and Joan Rice; uncles: Austin Rice (St. Croix) and Joseph Maynard;
He is also survived by nieces and nephews: Monica Robinson Pereira (St. Croix), Cheryl Robinson Joseph, Adrienne, Christina, Carlisle Rice Jr., Kiara, Khalil Rice. Kaylan Ambrose, Joshua Rice, Christa, Christineand and Christopher A. Rice Jr., Christopher J. Rice, Christopher M. Chriasha, Chrinesha and Chrishona Rice, and Nikkia and Maya Harrington.
Other survivors include cousins: Z’haria Prentice: Shelisa Vidal and Justin Joseph; extended family and close friends: the Patrick Family(N.Y.), Lezama family (St. Croix), King family(Fla.), Greenidge family (Fla.), Ringham family(St. Croix), Lewis family (St. Croix) and many more; very special friend, Kenny Lowe(Ga.); and many other loving cousins, extended family, relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
There will be a viewing held on Friday, April 4. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, at the Riverdale Centre, 7210 Church Street, Riverdale, Ga.
