ST. THOMAS AFTER DARK

0

Once again hundreds of St. Thomas residents hit the streets of Charlotte Amalie on Friday night for "Miracle on Main Street" to do a little last-minute shopping, visit with seldom seen friends, and get that warm fuzzy feeling of belonging.
Emancipation Garden was awash with all its finery, and sported numerous food, pastry, candy, and handcraft tables and tents. The Caribbean Chorale did its part making spirits ring, and other forms of Christmas music flowed throughout the night.
Main Street was well lit from Post Office Square to International Plaza with three major steel pan bands sending out the message of good cheer.
Almost all Main Street merchants opened their doors to accommodate shoppers and buyers alike.
Restaurants were all seen doing a great business, and the music on the waterfront at Palm Passage packed that area’s bars and eateries. The revelry continued far into the night even after the stores closed.
All the participants queried agreed it was the place to be for one of the most enjoyable social evenings of the season.
