4TH SUSPECT IN GYPSY CAB SLAYING EXTRADITED

The fourth suspect charged in the 1999 murder of cab driver Duvalier Basquin was extradited from Florida and appeared in Territorial Court Wednesday. 21-year-old Ottice Bryan has been charged along with three others with conspiring to rob and kill Basquin, a gypsy cab driver, on Nov. 4, 1999.
Prosecutors have alleged that co-defendant Kirsten Greenaway solicited the ride from Rothschild Francis "Market" Square to an area near the Sea View Nursing Home in Bolongo Bay. There, the three other defendants—Bryan, Eladio Camacho and Selvin Hodge—awaited Basquin. When Greenaway exited the vehicle, prosecutors contend, the three men beat him and in the struggle he was stabbed to death.
Police investigators found Basquin lying in a pool of blood on the ground near his vehicle hours after the attack. His alleged attackers netted $3 in the robbery.
The four defendants are expected to be granted separate trials, a request previously made by defense attorneys.
Bryan, arrested in Broward County by the FBI Fugitive Task Force, was ordered to remain in jail in lieu of $500,000 bail by Judge Brenda Hollar, who advised him of his rights during Wednesday's court appearance.
