March 2, 2002 – Construction work under way on Harwood Highway between St. Thomas Foods and the Innovative Telephone building should be completed by March 22, Public Works Commissioner Wayne Callwood said in a press release.
Crews from Tip Top Construction are working from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the project, which entails laying two inches of asphalt on the pavement. Callwood asked that motorists not park along the stretch of road while the work is under way and urged drivers to choose alternate routes.
The job is part of a $476,202 project that includes work in Savan, near Western Cemetery, near Lindbergh Bay and on the sidewalk in front of the Finance Department building on lower Main Street, he said, as well as filling potholes across St. Thomas. The funding is from the Public Work Department budget.
