Home Community Organizations CAHS CLASS OF '87 REUNION WILL DOUBLE THE FUN

April 15, 2002 – The 15-year class reunion for the Charlotte Amalie Class of 1987 is being held on St. Thomas April 23-28, right in the midst of Carnival celebration.
Special events:
— Welcome reception. Tuesday, April 23, 6-8 p.m. at Lillian's Caribbean Grill, Grand Hotel.
— Reunion dinner dance. Thursday, April 25, 8 p.m. until at Victor's New Hideout, Sub Base. Dress is semiformal.
— Family Fun Day/Picnic, Sunday, April 28, 12 p.m. until at Magens Bay. Tent location will be announced later.
These are carefully planned around Carnival events, so reunion attendees can have their johnnycake and eat it too.
1987: A first-class stamp cost 22 cents. Alexander Farrelly was in his first year as Virgin Islands governor. "thirtysomething" debuted on television. "Platoon" was the best picture, said Academy Awards. Toni Morrison's "Beloved" came out. Paul Simon's "Graceland" won Grammy album of the year; Steve Winwood's "Higher Love" won record of the year. Madonna was about to marry Sean Penn. What events do 1987 high school seniors remember?
A release addressing class members said it's countdown time, "so get your suitcases packed and bring your dancing shoes, because the Class of '87 is back and ready to 'Rock the House!'"
The Reunion Committee suggests bringing the digital, camcorders or the good old disposable cameras. That way class members will have something to bring along for memories at the 30th year reunion.
A reminder – reunion fees are slightly higher at the door, so pay ahead.
