PROSSER DONATION INCREASES CFVI MINI-GRANT POOL

April 1, 2003 – Thanks to a $15,000 donation from the Prosser ICC Foundation, the Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands will be giving out more and larger awards in its mini-grant program. Previously, CFVI director Dee Baecher-Brown said, the foundation's grant program had $20,000 to distribute annually. The Prosser ICC donation brings the total to $35,1000.
Awards range from $250 to $1,000. They are given to organizations, other entities and individuals who submit proposals to utilize the money in offering innovative programs for children and families in the Virgin Islands.
"With the additional funding, it gives us the potential to fund more at the higher end," Baecher-Brown said.
The mini-grants are available to groups such as school classes, clubs, sports teams and alumni groups as well social outreach agencies and individuals.
Applications are due April 11. To obtain an application form:
– Send an e-mail request to Dee Baecher-Brown at CFVI.
– Call the Community Foundation at 774-6031.
– On St. Thomas, stop by the CFVI office in Suite 2C, Royal Dane Mall (above the Beans, Bytes and Websites Café) or the Draughting Shaft in Havensight Mall.
– On St. Croix, stop by the St. Croix Chamber of Commerce offices at 3009 Orange Grove, Suite 12.
