Charter Meeting Set For Democrat Club

0

June 21, 2004 – Craig Barshinger is proposing to charter a Democrat Club on St. John. In a recent invitation to draw in members he said the club could meet before each meeting of the Territorial Committee, so the representative of the St. John Club can bring the ideas and views of St. John Democrats to the Territorial Committee.
He added, "Frankly, the Democratic Party, for all the good that it has done, has burned some bridges lately. Many of the old-timers are no longer interested. Thus there is a great opportunity to get in on the ground floor and make a real difference."
The Charter meeting of the club is scheduled at 6 p.m., Wednesday, June 23, at the Westin Resort.
A press release stated, "The proposed charter and bylaws will be presented. The bylaws are based on those of St. Thomas Mortar & Pestle Club.
In order to become a registered club of the VI Democratic Party 25 registered Democrats must sign the Charter. Democrats who are interested in being members, but cannot attend the organizational meeting, can call Barshinger at 693-5000 to arrange a time to sign. All registered Democrats are welcome at this meeting.
