V.I. Housing Sets Youth Orchestra, Computer Classes

July 12, 2004 – The V.I. Housing Authority is accepting registrations for its youth steel orchestra and computer literacy programs, which will be conducted on a 12-week cycle beginning Aug. 16 and ending Nov. 5.
The steel orchestra program is for residents of public housing between ages 10 and 18, and will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays at the Ruth Dazle Community Center, Oswald Harris Court Community, and in the Ramona Blades Community Center in the Michael J. Kirwan Terrace.
The computer literacy program is for youth and adult residents of public housing. Classes will be held Mondays through Fridays; there will be two sessions to choose between: morning classes from 9 a.m. to noon and evening classes from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Registration forms may be obtained from all housing managers' offices and at the central office Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., a release said. For more information contact the community services specialist in each community.
