Turnbull Announces Commissions and Boards Appointments

Nov. 17, 2004 – Gov. Charles W. Turnbull has appointed three Virgin Islands residents to several boards and commissions and congratulated Leon D. Battiste who was confirmed by the Legislature to serve on the Horse Racing Commission of St. Thomas for a term of three years.
The governor presented Batiste with a Certificate of Appointment and extended his sincere thanks and appreciation for his willingness to accept this responsibility and said that Batiste's interest and experience will be of great benefit to the people of the Virgin Islands on the Horse Racing Commission.
Gov. Turnbull re-appointed Robert O'Connor Jr. to the Commission of Judicial Disabilities for a term of four years and re-appointed Kevin L. Lenahan to the Chiropractic Examiners Board for a term of four years. The chief executive expressed his personal thanks and appreciation to O'Connor and Lenahan for their willingness to continue the serve in this capacity noting that their experience and knowledge will be a benefit to their respective Commissions.
The chief executive also appointed Dr. Phillip A. Richworth to replace Dr. Neville E. Weston on the Virgin Islands Board of Optometric Examiners. Governor Turnbull presented Dr. Richworth with a Certificate of Appointment and extended his sincere thanks and appreciation for his willingness to serve the people of the Virgin Islands. Dr. Richworth will serve a term of four years.
