St. John Singers to offer two holiday concerts

Nov. 30, 2004 — Be uplifted this holiday season by attending one of three concerts to be offered by the St. John Singers!
The concerts will be held on Tuesday, December 14 at 7:30 p.m. at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Cruz Bay; and on Sunday, December 19 at 7:00 p.m. at Emmaus Church in Coral Bay.
Under the direction of John Cahill, the program will feature two sacred works, Holy is God by C.P.E. Bach, and Magnificat by Ralph Vaughan Williams, as well as a variety of shorter pieces including a lively Christmas anthem, a West Indian carol and a couple of 16th century carols.
Soprano Lorna Freeman-Dennis and violinist Gabriela Hayley, both from St. Thomas, will be guest artists Ms. Freeman-Dennis has recently performed with the Puerto Rico Symphony and will be releasing a Christmas album soon. Ms. Hayley teaches violin and frequently performs at weddings.
Albert Lynch will accompany the choir on keyboard. Mr. Lynch teaches piano at his New School of Music on St. Thomas.
Tickets are $12 for adults, $5 for children 5 years and under, and are available in advance from choir members or at Connections. Tickets may also be purchased at the door.
St. John Singers is partially funded by VICA and the National Endowment for the Arts.
