Jan. 10, 2004 – Main Street will be closed to vehicles from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday. With eight cruise ships expected, St. Thomas Deputy Police Chief Elvin Fahie Sr. said the street closure was a safety measure due to the large number people expected to be in town.
Motorists are asked to use alternate routes to access Main Street, if necessary, the release from Fahie said.
