After 30 Years, Fort Frederik No Longer Free

0

Jan. 13, 2005 – Beginning Feb. 1, people ages 16 and over will have to pay $3 to enter the Fort Frederik Museum.
According to a release from the Department of Planning and Natural Resources, after 30-plus years being free and open to the public, escalating operational costs and other financial constraints at the museum are the cause of the new fee.
The money collected will fund future exhibits and help offset the museum's various expenses. Admission will remain free for children under 16 as well as for school and civic youth groups.
