Jan. 21, 2005 — Commissioner Dean C. Plaskett Esq., of the Department of Planning and Natural Resources is proud to announce that the official date for implementation of the newly adopted International Code Council (ICC), International series of codes, "I-codes – 2003", is January 27, 2005. This was made possible pursuant to Act. No. 6697 of the 24th Legislature signed into law by the Honorable Governor Charles W. Turnbull on October 27, 2004.
These new building codes, will not only, transition and update the department and local building industry into the new age of international construction innovations and technology, but also provide the department with realistic fees and fines to sustain and ultimately enhance a more effective building regulatory framework.

Qualified officials from the ICC will conduct a free training and workshop for all affected private or public entities within February. The revised fee and fine schedules will be posted or can be picked up at all DPNR, Division of Permits office locations on all three (3) islands.
