Jan. 31, 2005 — Freida Farrow, principal of Joseph Gomez Elementary School, invites the public to attend a special musical play entitled "5 A Day Live" on at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 13 in the Bertha C. Boschulte Middle School Auditorium. The play is part of the school's participation in the celebration of National Nutrition Month.
Tickets are available at the school weekdays between 8 a.m. and 2:35 p.m. and are $3 for children aged 2 – 12 years and $5 for adults including children age 13 and older. Tickets will also be available at the door.
Nutrition messages will be brought to life as 100 Gomez elementary School students participate in this lively production in support for the National 5-A-Day Nutritional Program. The play will vividly portray the national recommendation that everyone eat five (5) or more servings of fruit and vegetables each day, according to a release from the Education Department.
The 12-scene play will contain six original songs and lots of dance performances. "Our students are so excited about re-enacting this production of 5 A Day Live," said Farrow. "This has been a real learning opportunity for them, and we look forward to telling our friends, family and community about the importance of eating five to nine servings of fruits and vegetables a day."
