In a competition hosted by the Cheetah's Track Club at the Charlotte Amalie high school, qualifiers were:
— Sarifa Willette, Cheetah's Track Club, 100 meters.
— David Walters, Cheetah's Track Club, 100 meters.

— Calvin Dascent, Junior Barracudas Track Club, 400 meters,
— Juan Robles, V.I. Pace Runners, 1500 meters.

Clubs participating included those whose athletes qualified in the list above, plus Ivanna Eudora Kean High School, the V.I. Heatwave Track Club and the Jets Track Club. Athletes competed in the under-17 age group and the under-20 age group.
Six athletes qualified in the running events. All qualified runners were under 17 with two medal winners from last year (Sanny Eugene, 800 meters and Juan Robles, 3000 meters) and they were eligible to run additional events as well.
Qualification in the shotput and the long jump were scheduled for March 17 at the St. Croix Educational Complex High School Track, a release said. Coaches have identified some athletes who are now in college and finishing their indoor season and are verifying their times to determine if they have qualified.
