Senate President Lorraine L. Berry Wednesday extended an invitation to the community to attend and participate in the remaining 2005 Carnival activities. Carnival activities commenced on Sunday, April 3, 2005 and will be completed on Saturday, April 30, 2005.
Some of the events remaining on the Carnival schedule include: the Queen's Selection Show (Saturday, April 16, 2005-Lionel Roberts Stadium); the Junior Calypso Monarch Competition/Cultural Night (Friday, April 22, 2005-Lionel Roberts Stadium); the Heineken Calypso Revue (Saturday, April 23, 2005-Lionel Roberts Stadium); the Opening of "Calypsonianville" (Monday, April 25, 2005-Fort Christian Parking Lot), the Cultural Fair honoring Lucien "Jambi" Samuel, Jr. (Wednesday, April 27, 2005-Emancipation Garden); "Roas-A Time"-J'ouvert (Thursday, April 28, 2005-Veterans Drive); the Children's Parade (Friday, April 29, 2005-Rothschild Francis Square to Lionel Roberts Stadium) and the Adults Parade (Saturday, April 30, 2005-Western Cemetery to Lionel Roberts Stadium).
"I am encouraging the public to participate in the 2005 Carnival activities which celebrates the history, culture, art, customs, music, dance, dishes and traditions of the Virgin Islands," Senator Berry concluded.
