May 12, 2005 – Are you susceptible for diabetes? What kinds of cancers are most common in the Virgin Islands? What new diet does the federal government recommend?
Find the answers to these and other health questions at a free health fair from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Friday in the lobby of the Roy L. Schneider Hospital. The health fair is part of the celebration of National Hospital Week.
"This is part of our commitment to the public to provide the best health care in the territory," said Rodney E. Miller, president and CEO of Schneider Regional Medical Center. "We thank the public for the work they do 24 hours a day, seven days a week."
Some of the activities available at the health fair are blood pressure checks, diabetes screening, nutrition education, postural screenings and carpal tunnel preventions education, cancer education and medication counseling.
To get an accurate reading for the diabetes test, participants should not eat anything Friday morning.
