May 21, 2005 — Arthur Starr, President of the Rotary Club of Saint Thomas Sunrise, announced today that the Rotary’s newest service organization in the Territory would host a dedication ceremony of a new children’s playground in the Thomasville Cooperative Housing Community on Saturday, May 21, 2005 from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. The dedication ceremony will be followed by a reception for members and neighbors of the Thomasville Cooperative at the Thomasville Community Center.
Rosemary Sauter-Frett, Rotary Sunrise’s Playground Committee Chair, noted, "the new state of the art, durable and weather resistant playground equipment includes a sliding board, monkey bars, and tunnels just to name a few items. It is Rotary Sunrise’s hope that all the children in the Thomasville, Bovoni and Jeni’s Hope communities with their families will be able to enjoy the new facility."
Each year members of the Rotary Club of Saint Thomas Sunrise roll up their sleeves and come together to demonstrate their renewed commitment to our children and the community. To date, the new Rotary Club has adopted the Jane E. Tuitt School initiating various projects. It also continues to be an ongoing contributor of coloring books and crayons to Roy Lester Schneider Hospital’s pediatric ward and The Family Resource Center's children's library.
