Police Set Restrictions for Holiday Events

May 27, 2005 – Christiansted will be the site of two celebrations this weekend, therefore, some traffic restriction apply.
On Sunday is the St. Croix Foundation block party at the Sunday Market Square.
Herminio Velazquez, deputy chief of police district of St. Croix, advises the following parking and vehicular flow restrictions.
No through traffic will be allowed on the following streets from noon until the completion of the activities in the Square:
— On Market Street, from intersection of Queen Street To Strand Street.
— On King Street From Intersection Of Smith Street To Prince Street.
No-parking restrictions will be in effect on the following streets from 10 a.m. until the completion of the activities.
— On Market Street, from intersection of Queen Street to Strand Street.
— On Company Street from intersection of Prince Street to Market Street.
Memorial Day Parade
Velazquez advises the following parking and traffic restrictions that will be enforced on Monday to accommodate the Memorial Day Parade.
No through traffic will be allowed on King Street from Bassin Triangle to the Fort Christian Park from 8am until the completion of the parade:
No-parking restrictions will be in effect on King Street from Bassin Triangle to the Fort Christian park from 6 a.m. until the completion of the parade:
Any vehicles found parked in the restricted areas will be ticketed and/or towed away at the owner's expense.
