Warrant Issued for Murder Suspect

Sept. 19, 2005 – The V.I. Police Department's Criminal Investigation Bureau has a warrant for the arrest of Stephen Hodge charging him with the murder of Marcelino Rivera Jr. on Sept. 10 in Estate Profit. A second victim, a female, also sustained gunshot wounds in that incident. (See "Man Dead, Woman Seriously Injured in Attack ").
According to a police report, Hodge is considered armed and dangerous. He is known to frequent the areas of Estate Profit, Harvey Project, Aureo Diaz Housing, Ralph De Chabert Housing, and Christiansted in the area of the cemetery.
Superior Court Judge Maria Cabret signed a warrant for Hodge's arrest on the following charges: murder first degree, assault first degree, assault third degree, unauthorized possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and robbery third degree. Bail was set at $500,000.
Police describe him as a 22-year-old black male, brown eyes, 5 feet 4 inches tall, about 125 pounds, one of his arms is disfigured from a badly healed fracture, and he has a tattoo of cross with lion and "Selassie" on right hand.
Anyone found to be assisting Hodge and delaying his capture in anyway will face criminal charges.
