Oct. 11, 2005 – Schneider Regional Medical Center is offering free classes on diabetes and nutrition on the third Tuesday of each month. The next class is set for 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, in the Sun Room of the Roy L. Schneider Hospital on St. Thomas. This class will focus on how to prepare and cook healthy diabetic meals, according to the press release from the hospital.
There will be a demonstration on how to plan diabetic meals in appropriate portion sizes. For diabetics, watching their diet is crucial because what, when, and how much they can eat drastically affect their blood sugar levels.
Every class will focus on a different area of nutrition and diabetes and everyone is welcome to attend.
