Oct. 25, 2005 – Tune in to Doug Lewis this Sunday, Oct. 30, on WVGN 107.3 FM. Remember that this week the show shifts to a 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. time slot. This week you will be entertained by Buddy Guy, Jamie Kindleyside, Bettye Lavette and much more.
The Modern Music Feature CD is the latest from blues great Buddy Guy. The CD is titled "Bring Em In" and features appearances from lots of guest artists, including Carlos Santana, Keith Richards, Robert Randolph and more.
The Indie Spotlight CD is an alternative country CD. "Kind-le-sid" is the name of the release by Jamie Kindleyside. It is a fine alternative country CD which even includes a tune paying tribute to hockey great Bobby Orr.
We include new music from folk singer Bill Staines, r&b singer Bettye Lavette, the Waco Brothers, Magic Slim & the Teardrops, Nickel Creek and more.
We also celebrate the birthdays of Timothy B. Schmidt, who has played with both Poco and the Eagles, Jefferson Airplane vocalist Grace Slick, and Motown songwriter Eddie Holland.
We include music from Al Kooper, Susan Tedeschi, Poco, Warren Zevon. the Four Tops and more. We also feature music from the great jazz vocalist Nancy Wilson, who appears at the Frenchman's Reef on Nov. 5.
