Geiger Died of Head Trauma

0

Nov. 3, 2005 –– Long-time St. John resident David Geiger died Saturday of blunt force trauma to his head and face, medical examiner Dr. Francisco Landron said Wednesday.
"It could be any instrument with a blunt edge," he said.
He said Geiger was already dead by the time a fire was started in his bedroom. His body was found burned beyond recognition.
Landron said the autopsy could not determine the time of death.
Geiger's son, Nathan, was critically injured in the same incident.
Police Sgt. Thomas Hannah had no information on Nathan Geiger's condition.
Scott Crawford, co-administrator at the St. John School on Gifft Hill, where Nathan Geiger is in the 8th grade, said the 14-year-old remains in stable condition at a Puerto Rico hospital.
He said that counseling has helped the students deal with this situation.
"They've put their energies into making cards for Nathan," Crawford said.
Hannah said police are continuing to investigate the homicide and arson.
He asked that anyone with information contact the police at 715-5522, 715-5534 or 715-5546. Additionally, people with information can call the crime hotline at 777-8711 or 911.
