Jan. 5, 2006 — Residents with complaints about the condition of local roads are urged to call Sen. Adlah "Foncie" Donastorg's office prior to a Government Operations and Consumer Protection Committee meeting scheduled for next week.
"Details of those concerns will be noted and passed on to Public Works officials at the meeting," Donastorg said in a letter sent from his office Wednesday. Donastorg, the committee's chairman, said the meeting is designed to stay on top of such issues as roadside repair, the operation of new VITRAN buses, and other services provided by the Public Works Department.
The meeting, which will be held at 10 a.m. on Jan. 9 at the Earle B. Ottley Legislative Hall on St. Thomas, will also include testimony from Public Works officials about the status of road projects, including those on Red Hook Road on St. Thomas and La Grange Road on St. Croix. Updates on efforts to repair the territory's potholes are also anticipated, Donastorg wrote.
According to the release, residents with concerns are welcome to attend the meeting and should call Donastorg's office at 693-3517.
