The GOP is Grand

Dear Source:

With all due respect to Mr Boschulte, I think it is time that you stop bashing the President and his administration and focus on the political disarray in these islands. You should be focused on uniting republicans on all fronts (STT, STJ, STX, and Water Island). The democrats have made a total mess of this land and we have been paying the price due to the lack of support for the Republican Party.
I can dissect your op-ed commentary from the first paragraph to the last and challenge every accusation you made. You are starting to sound like a journalist for the L.A. Times. I would start with your allusion that "not one person suffered personally because of what President Clinton did." Was Al Qaeda a terrorist organization that started in 2000? No. Were they active and plotting and carrying out terrorist acts in the mid to late 1990's? Yes. Could the threat have been dealt with at the time when President Clinton was engulfed in his personal scandals? Sure it could have. My point being, that there is no way you can justify the current scandals as more consequential and life threatening as the previous administration scandals???
It is also appalling for you to say that, "on the home front, presently it is not a good time to be a Republican here in the Virgin Islands. Not only is it embarrassing, it is challenging."
My response at this time is not to correct you on the many inconsistencies of your article, but to urge all V.I. republicans, in this time of judgment, to stand by their values and integrity that make the party unique and self-sufficient.
All in all, I find the Bush-Cheyney administration THEE most diverse, dynamic, patriotic, and unselfish administration in my generation. I hope that the next administration in the Virgin Islands has a more conservative voice. I hope they will learn from the sacrifice our leaders have made on a national level so they can learn to sacrifice on a local level. Then maybe we'll see a reduction in crime, a better education system, a more resilient economy, a more respected government, and a brighter Virgin Islands for all!
