On November 18th 2005 the Distracted Driving Act was enacted to regulate the use of mobile hand held telephones while operating a vehicle.
You have until February 3rd before the VIPD will begin issuing citations. During the grace time Officers will be issuing warnings. Here are some tips:
· Always use a hands-free device
· Let calls go to voicemail until a safer moment
· Avoid stressful and intense conversations
· Don't look up numbers
· Don't dial while the vehicle is in motion
