Old School Dance Party Set Feb. 10 at Pilgrim Terrace
An Old School Dance Party, with proceeds going to the UVI/Tom Joyner Foundation School of the Month fundraiser, is scheduled for 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10, at Pilgrim's Terrace on St. Thomas. Dancers are urged to break out their bellbottoms and dust off their platform shoes to be sure and fit the spirit of the evening. DJ "Poppy" Pops will provide the music. Admission is $10 (an Old School price).
The party will serve as a warm-up for the O'Jays concert scheduled on Feb. 18 at UVI's Reichhold Center for the Arts. Participants will have a chance to win O'Jays tickets and autographed CDs. Tickets are available at the Reichhold Center Box Office, Modern Music (Havensight) and UVI Bookstore. For tickets and information, call 693-1559.
TJF Committee to Take Campaign to St. Croix Agriculture and Food Fair
The Tom Joyner (TJF) School of the Month Events Committee on St. Croix will participate in the 35th Annual Agriculture and Food Fair of the U.S. Virgin Islands. The fair runs from Feb. 17 to 20. In addition to conducting games on the Old School-New School theme, committee members will sell tickets for a 50/50 raffle. The drawing will take place on Monday, Feb. 20.
UVI's Bucs to Resume ODI Play in Puerto Rico on Feb. 10 and 11
ODI league action for UVI's men's and women's basketball teams resumes Friday, Feb. 10, when the Bucs return to Puerto Rico to face UPR-Carolina (at Maria Auxiladora School in Carolina). Friday's women's game is at 6 p.m., with the men playing at 7:30 p.m. On Saturday, Feb. 11, the Bucs take on the UPR-Aguadilla teams (with games at Politecnica in Santurce). Game times are 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., respectively.
MBA Exam Scheduled March 17 at UVI; Registration Deadline Is March 10
UVI's Business Administration Division will offer the MBA Comprehensive Examination from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, March 17. It will be offered in the Sports & Fitness Center Room 222, 2nd floor on the St. Thomas campus. The St. Croix campus location will be announced at a later date. The deadline to register for the exam is Friday, March 10. Applications and review guidelines can be picked up in the Business Administration Division Office. For more information, call 693-1300.
Charter Day Committee Seeks Input for Event/Activity Calendar
The UVI Charter Day Committee is assembling the calendar of activities and events on the St. Croix and St. Thomas campuses during this year's Charter Day Week, which extends from March 12 through March 18. Divisions or units planning a University event during this period marking UVI's 44th anniversary are asked to forward pertinent information no later than Feb. 24 so the activity can be noted on the Charter Day Week calendar, which will be widely circulated. Forum to Discuss Child Protection Act Scheduled for Feb. 16 at UVI
The VI Red Ribbon Coalition in collaboration with The University of the Virgin Islands Drug and Alcohol Prevention Committee will host a forum from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 16, in Chase Auditorium (B-110) on UVI's St. Thomas campus. The forum is titled: "Child Protection Act of 2002, Moving Forward to Make Changes." The University community and the general public are invited make comments and suggestions regarding the act and present questions to the panelists. Forum panelists will include Dr. Malik Sekou, UVI professor of Political Sciences and History, attorney Douglas Dick of the Virgin Islands Department of Justice, attorney Steven Brusch and V.I. Senator Shawn Michael-Malone.

Class Rings Representative to Visit St. Croix Campus on Feb. 13
A 2006 class rings sales representative will visit UVI's St. Croix campus beginning at 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 13. He will be located in Evans Center, outside the Business Office.

The St. Croix campus class of 2006 will conduct a bake sale beginning at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 15. The sale takes place in Evans Center, outside the Business Office. For details, call 692-4022.
Afternoon on the Green Set for March 5; Cooks and Volunteers Needed
The grounds of the Herman E. Moore Golf Course on the University of the Virgin Islands St. Thomas campus will be alive with food and family fun from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 5, when UVI celebrates its 17th Afternoon on the Green. This year's theme is "Food, Fun, an Educational Mix – On the Green for 2006." Cooks, as well as general volunteers, are being sought. If you're interested in preparing a dish or you have a valid health permit and are interested in volunteering to serve food, please call the UVI Institutional Advancement Component at 693-1040.
Little Theatre Issues Casting Call for Spring Production
UVI's Little Theater has issued a casting call for its upcoming spring production of "The Servant of Two Masters," a Caribbean adaptation of Carlo Goldino's comedia del' arte play. A minimum cast of seven men and four women is required. Auditions are scheduled from 7 to 9 p.m. on Feb. 15 and 16 in the UVI Little Theatre, located on the second floor of the CA Building on the St. Thomas campus. Participation by UVI students, faculty and staff is encouraged. The play will debut on March 31, with additional productions on April 1, 2 and 3. The guest director will be Tom Zeigler, a prominent playwright and director. For more information, contact Professor Dennis Parker at 693-1341. SBDC Schedules Business Tax Seminars Scheduled for St. John, St. Thomas
UVI's Small Business Development Center (SBDC), in collaboration with the VI Bureau of Internal Revenue will offer seminars titled "Filing Your 2005 Business Taxes" on St. John and St. Thomas. Topics to be covered include: tax changes for 2005, computing and filing taxes accurately, identifying local and federal tax requirements and how returns are selected for audit. The St. John session will take place from 9 to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 15, at the VI Legislature Conference Room in Cruz Bay. The St. Thomas seminar is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22, at the SBDC Training Facility at Nisky Center. Admission is free. Pre-registration is requested.
