Former Police Lt. Anita L. Christian Died Thursday

Feb. 14, 2006 – Retired Police Department Lt. Anita L. Christian, 60, died Thursday at Juan F. Luis Hospital on St. Croix.
"She was a woman of courage and was energetic, fearless and had a deep passion for her duties," Gov. Charles Turnbull said in a news release issued Monday.
The governor said that Christian, who lived at LaGrange, spent nearly three decades with the V.I. Police Department.
He said she started her work in the public sector with a job at the Agriculture Department. She joined what was then called Public Safety in 1967, retiring in 1994.
Turnbull expressed his condolences to her family, friends, Police Department, and the entire law enforcement community.
Christian is survived by her husband, Albert A. Harrison Sr. and son Albert A. Harrison Jr.
She is also survived by her sisters Leola A. Christian, Vernamae Y. Doward, Ann H. Doute, and Rose Ann Washington as well as brothers Lawrence, Charles, Anthon, Lloyd Sr., and Kenneth Christian, Clement Doward and the Rev. Gustave Petersen. Her special brother is Bradley E. Christian.
Christian is survived by her adopted children Dr. Damien Doute, Bradley Jamal Hendrickson, Terrance Gordon, and Michelle Doute.
Christian is survived by sisters-in-law Brenda V. Christian, Kathleen Bryan-Christian, Patricia W. Christian, Frances Petersen, Carmen Roebuck, Paula Isaac, and Enola Bloomfield as well as brother-in-law Angel LeBron.
She is also survived by a dozen nieces, a dozen nephews, five aunts, two uncles and numerous other relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. A viewing will be held at 9 a.m. Friday.
Interment is in Frederiksted Cemetery.
