District Public Schools Will be Closed on Friday
The St. Thomas-St. John District Schools will be closed this Friday, Feb. 24, so that faculty and staff can participate in intense professional development training sessions.
The schedules training will focus on assisting staff in acquiring innovative instructional strategies. "The bi-annual training is part of the district improvement plan," said Superintendent Dr. Emily R. Carter. "This program will help to bring the St. Thomas-St. John District in line with the federally mandated "No Child Left Behind Act and the implementation of the Standards and Accountability Initiative."
