DPNR Hosts Genealogy Presentation on Using Mormon Records

March 3, 2006 – The Department of Planning and Natural Resources announced that the Virgin Islands State Historic Preservation Offices and the Virgin Islands Genealogical Society is extending an invitation to the general public and all those interested in family genealogy to a presentation, "Doing Research Using Mormons Records," on Friday, March 3, at 6 p.m., at the historic preservation office conference room located at No. 17 Kongens Gade on Government Hill, Charlotte Amalie.
This presentation will assist researchers on discovering their family roots and teach methods to find their family history from genealogical libraries. These records include census, baptismal, death and marriages from the former Danish West Indies, the Virgin Islands, the Caribbean and Europe.
The presenter for this session is Christina Snow, a family history consultant from Salt Lake City, Utah. Information on the upcoming 2006 national conference sponsored by the Afro-American Historical & Genealogical Society, to be held in Salt Lake City, Utah will be discussed.
