KISS-FM Health Fair to Encourage Healthier Lifestyles

March 23, 2006 — A Who's Who of the health community will gather Friday and Saturday at the Antilles School MCM Center for the KISS 101.3-FM Family Health and Fitness Fair.
The fair — a health education and medical screening event coordinated by Knight Quality Stations' KISS-FM — will run from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
The fair seeks to increase participants' health awareness, promote healthy lifestyles and have better informed consumers, a release from KISS-FM said.
The fair will cover a diverse group of services from local hospitals, chiropractic centers, physicians, pharmacies, the American Red Cross and distributors of health-conscious drinks and supplies. Free screenings, such as blood pressure, cholesterol and blood glucose, will also be available to participants.
During the course of the health fair, presentations will be held on various topics including colo-rectal cancer, CPR, first aid, and yoga, to name a few. The fair's goal is not only to promote community health awareness, but to increase self-assessment abilities through interactive learning experiences.
The sponsors hope to encourage participants to assume responsibility for their own health choices through development of a personal wellness plan to maximize good health throughout life, to utilize screening information provided for early detection and to encourage participants to continue healthy behaviors.
"The community is invited to bring their families out on Friday, March 24 and Saturday, March 25 to the KISS-FM Health and Fitness Fair to take advantage of this great opportunity to better your health," the release said.
Here is a complete schedule of events.
