Soldier Package Drive Will Cheer Guardsman

Dec. 1, 2006 – The Virgin Islands National Guard Family Programs Office will host a Holiday Cheer Soldier Care Package Drive given by the Stafford Hall Court No. 205 on St. John for deployed V.I. guardsmen, from noon to 4 p.m., on Sunday, Dec. 3, at The St. John Marketplace in the Star Fish Market store.
Many families in the territory have loved ones who have served or presently are serving overseas. The Stafford Hall Court care package drive will send holiday cheer and aid to the guardsmen as they serve away from home.
Donations from the care package drive on St. John will be mailed to approximately 30 guardsmen. Presently, soldiers are deployed with the 786th Quartermaster Battalion along with individual soldiers from the 661st Military Police Company, Headquarters and the Medical Command.
Stafford Hall Court No. 205, a 501 (C) (3) organization of Christian minded men and women that give time and finances to those less fortunate or those in need, invites the community to share holiday cheer. Items required for the holiday packages are personal size toiletry items for both males and females, local treats like Brow Soda, homemade baked goods, candies and more.
For a detailed list of desired items, contact Lucina Petersen of Stafford Hall at 642-4829 or Jaslyn Scatliffe of the Virgin Islands National Guard Family Programs Office at 712-7774 or cell at 771-4634.
