Fifth Constitutional Convention Will Hold Hearings


Jan. 29, 2008 – The Legislative Committee of the Virgin Islands 5th Constitutional Convention are holding public hearings on the language proposed by the 4th Constitutional Convention's Article V (legislative branch), specifically, as it relates to the formation and responsibilities of the V.I. Legislature, according to a press release from the V.I. Fifth Constitutional Convention Legislative Committee.
The St. Thomas hearings will be held 7 p.m., on Wednesday, Feb. 20, at Earl B. Ottley Legislative Hall.
Citizens who want to testify can sign up the evening of the hearings and submit a written copy of their testimony at the hearing. For more information, call Delegate Eugene Petersen at 690-0617 or e-mail [email protected]
The convention will also hold plenary sessions every second Tuesday of each month. A plenary session is scheduled for Feb. 12, on St. Thomas, and the place and time will be announced next week.
