Classical Music Festival Comes to Water Island


Jan. 31, 2008 – The 3rd Annual Water Island Classical Music Festival will feature pianist Julian Gargiulo, who returns for the third year, bringing to the Virgin Islands a performance of the program he played in January at New York's Carnegie Hall. Joining him are Russian pianist Maria Yefimova, classical guitarist Alejandro Cote and operatic soprano Roza Tulyaganova of Uzbekistan, according to a press release from the Water Island Music Festival Committee.
Three concerts will be held from 7-10 p.m., on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, Feb. 9, 10 and 11, at Providence Point, Water Island. The concerts, which are sponsored by the Randall family, are free, but donations are accepted to cover the costs.
Ferries from Crown Bay Marina to Water Island will be available at 6:30 p.m. and 6:45 p.m., and will return at 10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. For more information, call 774-2635 in the evening.
