CCT Will Present Performances of 'Chicago'

The Caribbean Community Theatre presents "Chicago" for seven performances in February. The musical, with book by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse, music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb, is a story, set in the Roaring '20s, about the attempts of murderous showgirls Roxie Hart and Velma Kelly to outdo each other in capturing sensational headlines, each hopeful that the attentions of the press will catapult her from death row to a life of fame and fortune. Perfomances will be held at 8 p.m., on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 8-9, 15-16, and 22-23. There will also be a Sunday matinee at 4 p.m., on Feb. 17.
CCT's production is directed by Annaly Babb-Guerra, with music direction by Kathleen Dodge-DeHaven and choreography by Ariel Fromer. The featured vocalists include Leslie Highfield Carter, Lionel Downer, Natalie Hollins, Bruce Spector, Christine Thomas and Nick Tyler.
All performances will be at the Caribbean Community Theatre, No. 18 Estate Orange Grove, Christiansted. Tickets will be sold at the door: $15 for adults and $8 for students. No reservations will be taken, so arrive early for best seats. This production is rated PG-13, so please do not bring young children.
